PAY ATTENTION!! This year's Battle of Atlanta, coming July 28-29, 2006 is introducing a lot of new, exciting and interesting things that will peak your interest so pay attention and be ready to attend a Battle that will include great PKA fighting action, new divisions and special features for competitors and their families.
Every year, the Battle hosts special Professional Karate Association (PKA) fights and this year is going to be extra-special. Sport karate fighters Joey Greenhalgh and Manny Reyes, Jr. will fight - but not each other! Each is scheduled to face a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter in a stand-up, hard contact, PKA-style brawl. Greenhalgh will fight Brazilian Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist Junior Assuncao. Reyes will face Assuncao's brother Raphael. Both of these match-ups will take place at the Battle finals which will mean some very interesting action indeed!
The US Open had the Elite 8 and the Battle of Atlanta introduces the NASKA World Champion division. What this means is that the top four NASKA seeds at the Battle will not compete in the Best of the Best black belt divisions. The top four winners in each of Best of the Best black belt division will be invited to move into the NASKA World Champion division where they can challenge the top four NASKA seeds for the Battle of Atlanta NASKA crown.. This means that non-seeded competitors will have the chance to compete in their own division without worrying about trying to break through the seeds. Trophies will be awarded in each division (Best of the Best and NASKA World Champions) but NASKA points and prize money will only be awarded to those who compete in the NASKA World Champion divisions. The Battle is working to level the playing field for all competitors.
Also at the Battle:
Special group rates for groups of 15 or more.
Lots of stuff for the family to do in the Atlanta area.
Special Women's Weapons Grand Championship with a $1000 prize, sponsored by ProRank.
