The sixth annual Duel in the Desert is back, bigger and better then before. This year Jody Sasaki, an 8-time NBL World Champion, and his staff offer a new location, a new conference and the same friendly service and efficiency of year's past. This year's karate tournament will be held August 3-4, 2007at the beautiful Tuscany Suites and Casino. Also new this year is a brand new conference. The Duel in the Desert is proud to join the Salt City Internationals in the brand new NBL America West National Conference.

The Duel in the Desert staff prides themselves in quality customer service and unrivaled efficiency. Because of our great location, the Duel in the Desert offers a unique Friday start time of 10 am. The early start time allows the tournament to end early, giving competitors, friends and family the opportunity to enjoy and explore Vegas in the evening when the weather becomes much more bearable. Last year, the Friday portion of the competition ended at 2 pm with many competitors finishing well before that time.

“This isn't just another tournament. We want this to become a family vacation for all those that participate at the Duel in the Desert. By ending early we give families the opportunity to get out and explore and competitors are allowed rest for the next day's competition,” said Sasaki.

With most of the divisions taking place Friday, Saturday becomes that much faster and enjoyable. Last year the Saturday day-time eliminations ended by 1 pm giving competitors the opportunity to rest and prepare for the incredible night-time finals show.

The Duel in the Desert night-time show is a Vegas experience in its own. There is always fantastic martial arts action as some of the nation's best competitors square off to win prize money and the coveted Duel in the Desert customized Grand Champion Trophies. Add to that, the crowd is always entertained with a surprise guest. The last two years Elvis has come out of hiding and rocked the crowd. This year, there will be a new guest who will be just as entertaining.
